What this Policy covers
“Cookies and storage” includes HTTP cookies, local storage and any similar technology that stores information on, or reads information from, your device. The UK rules apply to the technology even where the stored value is not personal information.
The controller's full legal name and geographic address are still required in the Privacy Policy. Optional analytics and advertising remain disabled while that and the related provider documentation are completed.
Strictly necessary items
Consent is not required for storage used solely to transmit a communication or where it is strictly necessary to provide a feature you requested. OpenWall uses this limited category for a requested premium sign-in session, recording the cookie choice itself, a saved-wallpaper action or preference you selected, and a Terms-acceptance prompt linked to a requested premium action.
“Strictly necessary” is assessed from the user's perspective. A technology is not essential merely because it is useful to OpenWall, raises revenue or measures performance.
Optional categories and current status
- Functional: an optional support-prompt frequency record is not essential and remains disabled until the site can obtain and honour a specific optional choice.
- Analytics: Google Analytics and OpenWall's analytics/search-demand storage are disabled because the live measurement ID is blank. They must not be activated without a valid analytics choice and completed provider disclosures.
- Advertising: Google AdSense is disabled because the publisher ID is blank. It must not be activated for UK, EEA or Swiss traffic without the required Google-certified consent management platform and full vendor disclosures.
The preference panel may continue to display analytics and advertising controls so those categories can remain refused and so a future implementation cannot rely on silence or continued browsing as consent.
Changing or withdrawing a choice
Use Cookie settings at any time. Rejecting optional categories does not block public wallpaper browsing or a feature that can work without them. Withdrawing consent applies for the future; OpenWall also removes its analytics and search-demand local-storage records when analytics is refused.
You can also delete site data or block cookies in your browser. Blocking the premium session cookie prevents premium sign-in from persisting. Deleting saved-wallpaper storage removes the browser's saved list.
Cookies and similar storage
The table includes active first-party items and clearly marked dormant or conditional items. Cloudflare may use different security cookies depending on production settings; OpenWall must replace the conditional entry with exact observed names and expiries after a production cookie scan.
External websites
Following a source, Ko-fi or other external link takes you to another service with its own cookies and policies. OpenWall's choice panel cannot control storage set after you leave OpenWall. If an external resource is embedded or loaded directly on an OpenWall page, its storage and request behaviour must be included in this inventory.
Reviews and questions
This inventory must be checked against production after changes to hosting, sign-in, payments, analytics, advertising, embedded media or support tools. Send a cookie or privacy question to contact@getopenwall.com.
