Privacy Policy

No account required.

Last updated: July 11, 2026. OpenWall is a no-account wallpaper site. This policy explains what is stored in your browser, when optional analytics or advertising tools can load, and how to contact us about privacy or image concerns.

No Account Browsing

You can browse OpenWall without creating an account. The site does not ask for your name, password, payment details, profile photo, or address. If you email OpenWall, your email address and message are used only to respond to your request, review a source concern, process a correction, or handle a takedown request.

Saved Wallpapers and Local Storage

OpenWall can remember saved wallpapers and simple preferences in this browser. Those saves use browser storage, not an OpenWall user account. Saved wallpaper identifiers, preview preferences, and small interface choices may remain on your device until you clear site data or use browser controls to remove them.

Uploaded images used in the notes wallpaper tool stay in the browser session and are not intentionally uploaded to an OpenWall server.

Cookie and Storage Choices

OpenWall asks before using non-essential analytics or advertising storage. Rejecting non-essential storage does not block wallpaper browsing, downloads, or saved wallpapers. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer.

The consent choice itself is stored locally with the consent version and date so the site can remember whether analytics or advertising scripts may load.

Google Analytics

OpenWall loads Google Analytics only after analytics consent is granted. Analytics may measure page views, section views, search interest, saved-wallpaper interactions, downloads, device categories, and general site performance. Analytics helps identify empty searches, popular collections, and pages that need clearer content.

If analytics consent is rejected or withdrawn, OpenWall does not write its local analytics cache or search-demand storage, and the Google Analytics tag is not loaded for future page views unless consent changes.

Google AdSense and Advertising Cookies

OpenWall may use Google AdSense to show ads. The advertising script is loaded only after advertising consent is granted. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads, limit repeat ads, measure ad performance, detect abuse, and personalise ads where permitted.

Visitors can reject advertising storage through OpenWall's Cookie settings and can also review Google ad settings through Google's own advertising controls.

External Source Links

Wallpaper pages often link to external sources such as NASA, Wikimedia Commons, Pexels, Unsplash, or publisher pages. Those external sites have their own privacy policies, cookies, analytics, and download handling. OpenWall does not control those third-party services.

Voluntary Support Links

OpenWall may link to an external tip or payment page for voluntary support. Payments happen on that provider's website. OpenWall does not collect card details on this site, and the provider's own privacy and cookie terms apply once you leave OpenWall.

Custom Wallpaper Requests

Paid custom wallpaper requests are handled through Ko-fi. Ko-fi processes the payment, request details, order status, and buyer messages on its own service. OpenWall uses those request details only to review, create, deliver, refund, or respond to the custom wallpaper request.

Contact and Takedown Requests

If you contact OpenWall about a privacy question, license correction, attribution issue, or takedown request, the information you provide is used to investigate and respond. Include the page URL, wallpaper title, source URL, and the reason for the request so it can be reviewed quickly.

Data Choices

You can clear OpenWall local storage through your browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser. Blocking cookies may affect analytics, ads, saved preferences, or some site features, but browsing wallpapers should still work.

For a category-by-category list of storage names, providers, purposes, and durations, see the Cookie Policy.
