Operator details and current sales status
OpenWall is the trading or service name used by the operator of this website. The operator's full legal name and geographic address have not yet been inserted into these Terms. Those details are required before OpenWall can identify the contracting trader properly.
Paid sales are therefore disabled. They must not resume until the legal identity and address are published, the checkout disclosures and cancellation workflow are complete, and the sales flag in OpenWall's legal configuration is deliberately enabled. The current contact address is contact@getopenwall.com.
When these Terms apply
These Terms apply to use of OpenWall's website, saved-wallpaper tools, premium account features, downloads and any order OpenWall accepts. Browsing a public page does not remove any right you have under law. A separate, active agreement to the current Terms is required before a paid order or premium download can proceed.
A browser-local record may remember the Terms version and acceptance time. That convenience record is not a complete server-side order record and is not, by itself, the separate consent required to begin supplying digital content during a statutory cancellation period.
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must place and manage any order.
What OpenWall provides
OpenWall provides wallpaper-oriented curation, previews, crop and screen-fit information, saved items, links to external sources, and a separately labelled OpenWall Originals collection that includes AI-assisted and code-generated work. Some pages are informational source listings rather than an offer to supply the pictured file.
OpenWall is not a copyright-clearance service, law firm, stock-image agency or source of legal advice. A source name, link, licence label or metadata field is information to check; it is not a guarantee that every proposed use is lawful.
External images and source links
An external image remains subject to the rights and terms stated by its creator, rights holder, archive or source platform. Unless a listing expressly says that OpenWall grants a licence, OpenWall grants no permission in that external image. Follow the exact source and licence link and check attribution, modification, redistribution, commercial-use, personality, property and trademark restrictions before using it.
A platform may allow ordinary use of a photograph while prohibiting a wallpaper library from redistributing the standalone file. The words “free”, “free to use”, “royalty-free”, a general platform licence, or a press/media source do not by themselves authorise OpenWall to host a downloadable copy. Where OpenWall has not documented permission for on-site redistribution, the page must be source-link-only and the OpenWall download must remain disabled.
Creative Commons works may require creator credit, a link to the exact licence, an indication of changes, and, for some adaptations, distribution under the same licence. The exact licence attached to the work controls. Public-domain status also does not grant trademark, publicity, privacy or endorsement rights.
Creation methods used for OpenWall Originals
Some OpenWall Originals are generated or assisted using generative-AI tools; others are code-generated vector designs. Each released item states its recorded creation method. AI-assisted work may then be selected, resized, cropped, compressed or otherwise edited for the collection. It is not a photograph of an actual event unless a page expressly and accurately says otherwise. AI output can contain visual mistakes, invented details or unintended similarities to existing subjects.
“OpenWall Original” identifies the collection and production route. It does not promise that copyright exists in every element, that the work is unique, that no similar output exists, or that OpenWall owns every right that could apply in every country. No endorsement by a depicted or referenced person, place, brand or organisation is implied.
Personal-use licence for OpenWall Originals
Subject to payment where required and compliance with these Terms, OpenWall grants the individual customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
- download the supplied OpenWall Original and use it privately as wallpaper or a lock-screen background on devices the customer owns, controls or is authorised to personalise;
- make reasonable local back-up copies for that same personal use; and
- crop, resize or adjust the file locally only to fit those personal devices.
The licence does not permit you to sell, sublicense, share or redistribute the file; upload it to another wallpaper, stock, asset, template, print-on-demand, NFT or dataset service; use it in advertising, client work, a product, merchandise, branding, public posts or a public website; remove or misrepresent provenance; claim authorship or exclusivity; train an AI model on it; or imply endorsement. A separate written commercial licence is required for any use outside private device wallpaper.
The licence covers only rights OpenWall is legally able to grant and gives no rights in third-party trademarks, trade dress, personalities, privacy, buildings, artworks or other protected material that may appear. If a genuine rights issue means OpenWall could not lawfully grant the promised licence, contact OpenWall for the remedies available under law.
For a copy lawfully downloaded under a completed purchase, the personal-use licence continues after the online service ends, unless continued use is unlawful or the licence is ended for a material breach that is not remedied after notice. A no-charge OpenWall Original carries the same personal-use limits unless its page expressly provides different written terms.
Resolution, “4K” and file labels
“Native 4K” means that the delivered file itself has at least 3840 by 2160 pixels for landscape use, or 2160 by 3840 pixels for portrait use, and was not merely enlarged from a smaller supplied image. “4K-sized export” describes the output canvas and may be upscaled; it does not promise native 4K detail. “Original file” means the verified, unmodified source file, not a resized CDN rendition or OpenWall export.
The product or download page must state the actual delivered format, pixel dimensions and whether resizing or cropping occurred. If the delivered paid file materially differs from its description, the statutory remedies section below applies.
Premium accounts
Premium access is attached to the email address recorded for the qualifying purchase. The customer signs in with a single-use email link; a successful sign-in creates a session cookie for up to 30 days. The customer must use an email address they control, keep email access secure, sign out of shared devices and notify OpenWall promptly of suspected unauthorised use.
Access and sign-in links may not be sold, transferred or shared. OpenWall may temporarily protect or suspend an entitlement where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, a refund or chargeback, security misuse, unlawful activity or a material breach. OpenWall will provide an explanation and a route to review where reasonably practicable, without limiting statutory rights.
Meaning and scope of lifetime access
If a future product is described as “lifetime access”, lifetime means the operating life of the OpenWall Originals access service, not the customer's lifetime and not perpetual hosting. The exact collection included on the order date, and whether later releases are included, must be stated immediately before payment and in the durable order confirmation.
Lifetime access is a continuing online entitlement, not ownership of the files or a commercial or exclusive licence. OpenWall may replace or remove an individual item for a genuine security, quality, legal or rights reason. OpenWall may discontinue the service for a genuine legal, technical, security, supplier or business reason, but will not use this clause to avoid mandatory consumer obligations.
Where closure is planned, OpenWall will give affected customers reasonable notice and an opportunity to download the then-included collection where reasonably practicable. Sudden legal restrictions, security incidents or supplier failure may make advance notice impossible. Customers should keep usable local back-ups; a saved item, account entitlement or receipt is not a copy of the image.
Prices, orders and payment
Before an order is placed, the checkout must show the exact product, total price and currency, all unavoidable taxes or charges, payment method, delivery timing, licence scope, technical requirements, duration and cancellation information. The contract and support language is English unless the checkout expressly offers another language. A converted currency estimate is informational only; the amount and currency at the payment provider's final confirmation control.
No payment route is active in this release. If sales later resume through Ko-fi or another disclosed payment provider, OpenWall will not receive card or bank credentials. An order will be accepted only when payment is accepted and the customer receives confirmation that OpenWall will supply the product. Platform terms may also apply to a payment transaction, but they do not replace OpenWall's obligations as trader.
Any reference price, saving, launch price or future price must be genuine, evidenced and accompanied by its real conditions. OpenWall will not use a crossed-out or “later” price merely to make the current price look cheaper.
Cancellation and immediate digital supply
UK consumers normally have a 14-day right to cancel a distance contract for digital content, starting after the contract is made. That right may be lost once supply begins only where the customer has first expressly consented to supply beginning during the cancellation period and acknowledged that doing so will lose the cancellation right, and OpenWall has provided the required confirmation.
Accepting these general Terms is not treated as that separate consent and acknowledgement. If the required separate choices were not collected, OpenWall will not claim that the cancellation right was lost. To cancel where the right remains, email contact@getopenwall.com with the order email, order reference, product and a clear statement that you cancel.
You may use this wording: “I give notice that I cancel my contract for [product], ordered on [date], under order reference [reference]. My name is [name] and my order email is [email].” A geographic cancellation address must be added before sales resume.
Consumer rights and remedies
Nothing in these Terms restricts rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Paid digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a purpose made known and accepted, and as described. If it does not conform, consumers may have rights to repair or replacement and, where the problem cannot be resolved within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience, an appropriate price reduction or refund. Rights may also apply if faulty digital content damages a device or other digital content because reasonable care and skill was not used.
A paid custom service must be performed with reasonable care and skill, within an agreed or reasonable time, and for the agreed or a reasonable charge. Contact OpenWall with the order reference and problem so it can be investigated. These remedies are separate from any cancellation right.
Custom wallpaper requests
Custom requests remain disabled until their checkout and data workflow are complete. Before accepting a request, OpenWall must state the deliverable, format, dimensions, price, delivery estimate, revision allowance, cancellation position and whether generative AI will be used.
Unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, an accepted custom result is non-exclusive and carries only the personal-use wallpaper licence above. It does not transfer ownership, guarantee exclusivity, or grant commercial, trademark or personality rights. You must have permission to provide reference material, but that confirmation does not remove OpenWall's own legal responsibilities.
Do not send sensitive, confidential or identifiable-person material until OpenWall has confirmed a suitable secure workflow, the AI or other providers that will receive it, and the applicable retention and deletion arrangements.
Saved items and local tools
Public saved wallpapers are stored in that browser, not in the premium account. They are a convenience rather than a permanent archive or cloud back-up. Clearing site data, turning memory off, removal of an image or loss of the service may remove or break a saved entry.
Where an image tool says an upload remains in the browser, OpenWall will not intentionally upload it to the server. You remain responsible for having permission to use any material you load into a local tool.
Voluntary tips
Voluntary tip payments are currently disabled until the operator and payment recipient are properly identified. If re-enabled, tips are optional and do not buy an account, licence, exclusive rights, priority treatment or a product unless a separate offer expressly says so. A tip is not represented as a charitable donation and may not qualify for tax relief. The external payment provider's terms and privacy information apply to its checkout.
Acceptable use
Do not bypass access controls, share premium credentials, probe or disrupt the service, introduce malicious code, scrape private files, falsify payment or entitlement information, use the service unlawfully, or use OpenWall branding in a way that suggests affiliation or endorsement. Normal browsing, accessibility technology and search-engine indexing that follows published controls are not prohibited.
Availability, changes and external services
OpenWall relies on services including Cloudflare, Ko-fi and Resend. Maintenance, outages, security events, supplier changes and legal restrictions can affect availability. OpenWall does not promise uninterrupted access, but this does not reduce obligations applying to paid content or an accepted service period.
External links are provided for source checking or convenience. OpenWall does not control an external site's content, availability, privacy practices or later licence changes, but remains responsible for its own statements and conduct.
OpenWall may improve or change public features. A material change to paid access will be notified where reasonably possible and will not be used retrospectively to remove a right already acquired or avoid a remedy. The Terms version accepted for an order will be retained with the durable contract record once sales resume.
Liability
OpenWall does not exclude or limit liability where that would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or mandatory consumer rights and remedies.
For the no-charge discovery service, OpenWall cannot promise that every external source label, link, availability statement or resolution field will remain accurate after publication. OpenWall is not responsible for loss that was not a reasonably foreseeable result of its breach. The service and personal-use licence are not supplied for business use, so, to the extent lawful, OpenWall is not responsible for business losses arising from use outside the agreed personal scope.
Corrections, complaints and takedowns
Send source, attribution, privacy, security and rights concerns to contact@getopenwall.com. Include the OpenWall URL, image title, exact source or rights evidence, the requested action and a contact route. OpenWall may temporarily disable access while reviewing a credible concern. See the Contact page for the data-protection complaints process.
Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, except that a consumer keeps any mandatory protection provided by the law of the country in which they live. Consumers resident in England or Wales may bring proceedings there; consumers in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring proceedings in their respective courts. Nothing here prevents the parties from resolving a complaint informally first.
