Accepting These Terms
You may browse OpenWall without accepting these terms. OpenWall asks for an active agreement to the current Terms of Use before opening the checkout for Originals lifetime access. If that current acceptance is not already recorded in the browser, OpenWall asks again before the first premium Original is downloaded there.
If you do not agree, checkout or the premium download will not start. You can close the prompt and continue browsing public pages and free wallpapers. An acceptance record may be stored in that browser so OpenWall does not ask again until the terms change or browser storage is cleared.
Wallpaper Sources
OpenWall includes two broad kinds of images: OpenWall-created originals and source-linked images from external platforms or archives. External images may come from sources such as NASA, Wikimedia Commons, Pexels, Unsplash, or publisher media pages. Each wallpaper page should show a source signal so visitors can review the original page.
Source metadata can change or contain mistakes. Before commercial use, redistribution, printing, client work, brand use, or public publishing, verify the license and attribution requirements on the linked source page.
OpenWall Originals
OpenWall Originals are created for OpenWall and are labelled separately from external source images. They are intended for personal wallpaper use. Do not claim an OpenWall Original as your own artwork, sell it as a standalone image pack, or use it in a way that implies endorsement by OpenWall.
Originals Lifetime Access
A lifetime-access purchase is a one-time payment for personal access to the Originals marked as included at the time of purchase and future included Originals released while OpenWall continues operating the Originals service. “Lifetime” means the operating lifetime of the OpenWall Originals service. It does not mean the buyer's lifetime and is not a promise that OpenWall, its website, Cloudflare, or any other supplier will operate or host the files forever.
Lifetime access is not ownership of the images, a commercial licence, an exclusive licence, or permission to redistribute the files or share account access. A buyer's personal-use licence for an Original already downloaded and kept locally continues if the online service later ends, subject to these terms.
Access is attached to the email used at Ko-fi checkout and is restored through a secure email sign-in link. You are responsible for entering an email you control. Contact OpenWall if a checkout typo or loss of access needs to be reviewed.
OpenWall may replace, remove, or stop distributing an individual image for genuine quality, safety, legal, or rights reasons. OpenWall may also discontinue the Originals service for genuine business, technical, security, supplier, or legal reasons.
Service Availability, Downloads and Backups
OpenWall currently relies on third-party infrastructure, including Cloudflare, for website delivery, account records, and private image storage. OpenWall cannot guarantee uninterrupted or permanent access. Outages, data loss, supplier changes, insolvency, shutdown, legal restrictions, or the discontinuation of OpenWall may make some or all wallpapers unavailable, sometimes without enough time to give advance notice.
You are responsible for promptly downloading the wallpapers you want to keep and maintaining your own usable local backups. A saved-wallpaper entry, browser favourite, sign-in entitlement, receipt, or purchase record is not a copy of a wallpaper and is not a cloud-backup service.
If the Originals service is planned to end, OpenWall will aim to give current buyers reasonable notice and an opportunity to download the then-current included collection where reasonably practicable. This cannot be guaranteed where access is lost suddenly or because a supplier or service fails.
Subject to rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, OpenWall is not responsible for the loss of access to a wallpaper that was made available for download but that you did not download or back up before it was removed or the service became unavailable. Nothing in these terms removes statutory rights where paid digital content is not as described, is not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose, or where another mandatory consumer remedy applies.
Payments and Statutory Rights
Payments are processed by Ko-fi and its payment providers. Prices and the content included are shown before checkout. Nothing in these terms limits any cancellation, refund, quality, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded. For payment or access problems, contact OpenWall and include the Ko-fi order details.
Third-Party Rights
Names, landmarks, vehicle brands, game titles, platform names, and source services may belong to their respective owners. OpenWall uses those terms for identification, browsing, source attribution, or search intent. Inclusion on OpenWall does not mean OpenWall owns the underlying third-party rights.
Corrections and Takedowns
If a wallpaper appears incorrectly licensed, misattributed, duplicated, unsuitable, or otherwise problematic, contact OpenWall with the page URL, wallpaper title, source URL, and a short explanation. Valid correction and takedown requests are reviewed manually.
Saved Wallpapers
Saved wallpapers are a browser convenience, not an account, permanent archive, stored copy of the image, or cloud backup. Clearing browser data may remove local favourites and preferences, and a saved entry may stop working if its image is removed or the service becomes unavailable.
Voluntary Support
Tips and donations are optional and do not buy exclusive wallpaper rights, commercial licenses, account features, or priority treatment unless a separate written agreement says so. Voluntary support payments are processed by an external provider, and OpenWall does not handle card details on this site.
Custom Wallpaper Requests
Custom wallpaper requests are small paid requests handled through Ko-fi. Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, a £1 request covers one simple personal-use wallpaper, does not include guaranteed revisions, and does not grant exclusive rights, commercial rights, trademark rights, or ownership of OpenWall's broader style or assets.
No Warranty
The service is provided as-is while the project is being built and improved. OpenWall does not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every external source label, resolution, availability, or licence signal will remain accurate forever. Use your own judgement and verify external source pages before important reuse.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, rights, or remedies where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or mandatory consumer rights.
